Carole Whitridge

Carole grew up in Scotland and can still remember her First Grade teacher, Mrs Gourley, who had long hair, played the guitar and was very kind.  She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education from The Northern College of Education, at Dundee University.  The overarching theme of the degree was, “hands on, the child will understand what they discover for themselves”.  This has continued to be an underlying principle of  all her teaching, and she feels that Waldorf Education brings this idea into technicolor.
After teaching 1st Grade in her native Scotland she moved to Singapore to teach in a large international school.  She taught Second and Fifth Grades and worked collaboratively with the teachers on her grade level (there were eight Second Grade classes!)  During this time she met her future husband and after four years in Singapore, they moved to the the United States.  They got married, bought a house and had a family.  Searching for a dynamic program for her children led her to Waldorf education, which is a perfect fit for her family.  She is delighted to get back to full-time teaching and is pursuing a Waldorf Education Certificate.
