Matt Dusek grew up in the farmlands of northern Illinois. He attended Prescott College in Arizona receiving an undergraduate degree in Sustainable Community Development in 2001. During the warm summers in Prescott, he worked at kids camps as an Outdoor Skills Specialist. Matt developed a passion for teaching while sharing his love for the outdoors with children of all ages. Knowing he would always work with children, the question soon became where. The San Juan Islands are what initially drew Matt to the Northwest. (He returns most summers, continuing to explore the islands via his sailboat)
Matt found his way to Waldorf education in 2003. He immediately felt enlivened in this new environment while working as a class assistant and games teacher in Ashland, Oregon. Matt completed his teacher training through Antioch University New England. He has been class teaching for three years and is currently sharing a second grade class with 26 beautiful beings in Central Point, Oregon.
