Katie Stumpff attended Southern Oregon University and later studied at the University of Guanajuato with a major in Biochemistry.  During her college years, Katie dedicated herself to public service as a volunteer with Dunn House through Community Works, Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) and as a volunteer with Jackson County Juvenile Justice.  Katie graduated with a degree in Spanish Language and Culture.

Katie is passionate about Waldorf education.  After wandering through a garden at a Waldorf preschool in Talent, Oregon, Katie knew she wanted to learn more and be immersed in the daily rhythms of Waldorf.  At the preschool, she discovered one of her favorite books by author Sharifa Oppenheimer called “Heaven on Earth.”  “Heaven on Earth” served as a useful tool while raising her two young children with her husband Jay. Both children now attend Madrone Trail.

Currently, Katie is the General Manager of Porters Restaurant. Porters has allowed Katie to grow professionally in the areas of finance and business, find creative solutions to problems and nurture relationships in the community. Katie is looking forward to bringing these skills to the Madrone Trail School Board.
